The official website for the new Rurouni Kenshin anime released this Sunday (18) a promotional art, additional cast, duration of two consecutive cours, as well as a fifth trailer.

Therefore, the video reveals a preview of the anime's opening theme song, titled "Hiten", performed by artists Ayase and R-Shitei (Ayase✕R-Shitei).
Satoshi Hino then joins the anime's cast as Hajime Saitō, the former leader of the Shinsengumi's third division (image below).
Directed by Hideyo Yamamoto at the animation studio Liden Films (Tokyo Revengers, Yofukashi no Uta), composed by Hideyuki Kurata, character design by Terumi Nishii and music by Yu Takami.
Watsuki and his wife, Kaoru Kurosaki, launched the manga Rurouni Kenshin: Hokkaido Arc in Shueisha's Jump SQ magazine in September 2017. However, the manga went on hiatus in December 2017 after Watsuki was accused of possession of child pornography. The series later resumed publication in June 2018.
The new Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) therefore proposes to readapt the complete manga.
Synopsis
The story follows the slashing swordsman Kenshin Himura , then known as one of the best swordsmen in the country, who is tired of killing so much. However, his past comes back to haunt him, and Kenshin will be forced to wield his sword again against enemies old and new that surround him.
