Rurouni Kenshin – Promotional video features characters from the group “Oniwabanshu”

The team behind the new “Rurouni Kenshin” anime released its sixth promotional video, which revealed four new cast members from the group Oniwabanshu. They will appear from the eighth episode of the anime.

The anime premiered on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block and elsewhere on July 6. The anime will be shown for two consecutive runs (a quarter of a year). Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs.

Synopsis

The story follows the slasher swordsman Kenshin Himura , known as one of the best swordsmen in the country, who is tired of killing so much. However, his past comes back to haunt him and Kenshin will be forced to wield his sword again against old and new enemies that surround him.

Directed by Hideyo Yamamoto at the animation studio Liden Films (Tokyo Revengers, Yofukashi no Uta), composition by Hideyuki Kurata, character designer by Terumi Nishii and music by Yu Takami.

Watsuki and his wife, Kaoru Kurosaki, then launched the Rurouni Kenshin: Hokkaido Arc manga in Shueisha's Jump SQ magazine in September 2017. However, the manga went on hiatus in December 2017 after Watsuki was accused of possessing child pornography. The work later resumed publication in June only in 2018.

Finally, the new Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) therefore proposes to readapt the complete manga.
