The official website for the hit live-action series Rurouni Kenshin has released a new trailer for the highly anticipated third film, The Legend Ends (Rurouni Kenshin: Densetsu no Saigo-hen). The video features a new theme song by the band ONE OK ROCK, although the song's title has not yet been announced.

The Kyoto Inferno arc (Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Taika-hen), the first of two live-action films in the series, opened across Japan earlier this month. In three days, it sold 645,086 tickets for ¥822,734,430 (approximately US$8 million). In the process, it garnered the biggest opening of any Japanese live-action film this year.

Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno (Rurouni Kenshin: Densetsu no Saigo-hen) will open in Japan on September 13th.

The manga series first appeared as a pair of short stories published sporadically, both titled Chronicles of a Swordsman from the Meiji Era, published between 1992 and 1993 in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump Special magazine.

In 1994, Watsuki created a definitive version that was published in Weekly Shōnen Jump and completed in 1999, on which the anime series is based. The manga consists of 28 bound volumes (or 28 tankōbon). In 2000, Yahiko no Sakabatō (Yahiko's Sakabatō) was released.
