During the online event Kadokawa Light Novel Expo 2021, an anime adaptation of Sabikui Bisco . The new anime is based on the light novel by author Shinji Cobkubo (Kobukubo).

Therefore, the animation is by the OZ and directed by Atsushi Ikariya .

Synopsis:

The story takes place in Japan, where a "rusty wind" corrodes everything it touches. People live in fear of the rust that eats away at their cities and life in general. A boy named Bisco Akaboshi from the despised Mushroom Guardian tribe embarks on a journey to obtain the "Rust-Eating" mushroom—a miracle drug that purifies all rust.

Finally the manga was released in 2018, currently its 6th volume was released in June 2020.
