This universe of zombies and pop music has already given rise to several adaptations. In 2014, Sailor Zombie began as a 12-episode live-action series airing on TV Tokyo. The series featured AKB48, including Nana Owada, Rina Kawaei and Juri Takahashi, as students at an all-girls school, trying to survive in a world invaded by zombies. The success of the series led to a manga adaptation, published between 2014 and 2016, with four volumes written by Jiji & Pinch.
