Taro Sakamoto and Shin Asakura will return to the battlefield to protect their loved ones. Now, the mission to kill Sakamoto reaches a new level among the assassins.
Arrests, exams and infiltrations in the new arc
The first part adapted chapters 1 to 37 of the manga. However, it cut slice-of-life scenes, which divided opinions among fans. These scenes could have helped the story's pacing, especially since some fights lacked fluidity. Still, the anime skipped ahead to chapter 37. Thus, Part 2 will continue adapting the Death Row Inmates Arc (chapters 32 to 54). In this arc, X frees criminals and sends them to kill Sakamoto.
From now on, lighthearted moments will be rare. The story adopts a more direct tone, with constant confrontations and increasing tension with each episode. Beyond this arc, the anime may progress to the JCC Transfer Exam (chapters 55 to 72). It may also begin the JCC Infiltration Arc (chapters 73 to 104). During these phases, Sakamoto and Shin attempt to access the JCC organization's data to find clues about Slur.
Animation quality and worldwide distribution
The animation received criticism for static scenes lacking visual impact. Despite this, the new trailer pleased some audiences with vibrant colors and more movement. Since production was already underway, major changes seem unlikely. Still, fans expect specific improvements to the combat. Another problem with Part 1 was its early release on Netflix Japan. Episodes were released a week before the international version, causing widespread dissatisfaction.
Part 2 is expected to remedy this. Netflix is expected to release the episodes globally on Mondays, with subtitles and dubs in multiple languages. Sakamoto Days will remain exclusive to the platform, at least until the end of the current season.
Sakamoto Days: Part 2 Release Date
