Through a short video on TOHO Animation's YouTube channel, fans learned that the game , “ Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin ” ( Tensui no Sakuna Hime ) was adapted into an anime by studio PA Works (Angel Beats!, Charlotte ).

Synopsis for Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin
The plot follows the journey of Princess Sakuna, a harvest deity and spoiled warrior, who, together with her faithful companion Tama and a small group of humans, is exiled to the Island of Demons. This situation occurs after humans inadvertently invade the Celestial Realm, home of the gods, inadvertently causing chaos while Sakuna tries to contain them. Unable to send the humans back immediately, the higher deity, Lady Kamuhitsuki, entrusts Sakuna with the responsibility of caring for them while she purifies the island of its demonic threats. This mission must be completed before it is possible to send the humans back to their own world.
Developed by Edelweiss and published by Marvelous. Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin was announced for the first time on November 10, 2020 for Switch, PS4 and PC via Steam. The game later arrived in Japan on November 12th and in Europe and Australia on November 20th.
