Through a video short on the TOHO Animation channel's “YouTube”, fans learned that the game , “ Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin ” ( Tensui no Sakuna Hime ) was adapted into an anime by the studio PA Works (Angel Beats!, Charlotte).

Synopsis for Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin
The plot follows the journey of Princess Sakuna, a harvest deity and spoiled warrior, who, along with her faithful companion Tama and a small group of humans, is exiled to Demon Island. This situation occurs after humans inadvertently invade the Celestial Realm, home of the gods, inadvertently causing chaos while Sakuna tries to contain them. Unable to send the humans back immediately, the high deity, Lady Kamuhitsuki, entrusts Sakuna with the responsibility of caring for them while also purifying the island of its demonic threats. This mission must be completed before the humans can be sent back to their own world.
Developed by Edelweiss and published by Marvelous, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin was first announced on November 10, 2020, for Switch, PS4, and PC via Steam. The game later arrived in Japan on November 12, and in Europe and Australia on November 20.
