“Sand Land” anime gets a new teaser

Bandai Namco released a new teaser this Friday (12) for SAND LAND: THE SERIES , the anime adaptation of the manga SAND LAND , by Akira Toriyama .

The anime will stream exclusively worldwide on Disney+ Star in spring 2024.

The anime series will feature previously unseen clips from the film "SAND LAND," famous scenes from the original manga, and a new story created by Toriyama that continues from the film. The series will also feature members of the film's cast and crew.

Returning cast members are:

  • Mutsumi Tamura as Beelzebub
  • Kazuhiro Yamaji as Rao
  • Chō as Thief
  • Satoshi Tsuruoka as General Are
  • Nobuo Tobita as General Zau

Synopsis

In the distant future, war has destroyed the entire Earth, leaving only a barren desert where the water supply is controlled by the greedy king. Searching for a long-lost lake, Sheriff Rao turned to the Demon King for help… and found the king's son, Beelzebub, and his assistant, Thief. Together, the unlikely trio sets out across the desert, facing dragons, bandits, and the deadliest enemy of all… the king's own army! It's a road-trip adventure and tank-racing action in this new story from Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball Z!

The "Sand Land" manga is a short series that Toriyama serialized in Shueisha's "Weekly Shonen Jump" magazine from May to August 2000. Shueisha published a compiled volume of the manga in November 2000.
