The official website for Akira Toriyama 's SAND LAND debuted a new trailer and announced the main cast and key crew members on Monday.

In the trailer, a voice intones: “This summer, the most powerful and villainous demon will awaken.” The trailer then cuts to Beelzebub himself, proudly talking about staying up late, sleeping too much, and not brushing his teeth.
The cast includes:
- Mutsumi Tamura as Beelzebub
- Kazuhiro Yamaji as Rao
- Cho as Thief
- Satoshi Tsuruoka as General Are
- Nobuo Tobita as General Zau
Toshihisa Yokoshima ("Tales of Crestoria: The Wake of Sin", "Amanatsu", "Cocolors", Dragon Quest sequels) is directing the film at Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga and Anima with Hiroshi Koujina (Ryoma! The Prince of Tennis, The Vampire Dies in No Time, Grenadier) serving as a directorial advisor. Hayashi Mori (Cells at Work! Code Black, Drifting Home) is writing the script. Yoshikazu Iwanami is directing the sound, and Yugo Kanno (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, Psycho-Pass, Ajin) is composing the music.
The work was previously announced in December as a “screen adaptation”.
The Sand Land manga is a short series that Toriyama serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from May to August 2000. Shueisha published a volume of the manga in November 2000.
Synopsis
Humans and demons coexist in a hostile place. When the river that supplied the entire world dries up, the King begins to control all remaining water distribution. Thus, the old sheriff Lao decides to go in search of the legendary Fountain of Dreams , accompanied by the demon Beelzebub and his friend Thief.
