Issue 19 of "Young Animal" magazine revealed that the manga Sangatsu no Lio (Chika Umino's March comes in like a lion) will receive an anime adaptation and a possible live-action adaptation as well.

The manga's story follows a shogi player named Rei and his relationships with a neighboring family. He becomes acquainted with Akari, and two other girls, Hinata and Momo, who also have a large number of cats.

Author Umino began the series in 2007, and publisher Hakusensha will release the compiled volume later this month. The series has won several awards, including the Manga Taisho Award and the Kodansha Manga Award in 2011. The manga also won the 18th Osamu Tezuka Awards' Top Award in March 2014.
