Finally, the release of the game SAO Alicization Lycoris is approaching, and Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for the game.
The trailer in question gives a preview of the story mode. (Check out the video at the end of the post)
Previously, Bandai Namco Entertainment had postponed the release of the game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to July 9th and for PC to July 10th in Japan due to safety considerations related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The game will be released in North America and Europe on July 10th. The release date for the game in North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia was originally announced on May 22nd.
SAO Alicization Lycoris follows the same basic plot as volumes 9 through 18 of the Sword Art Online light novel and the Sword Art Online: Alicization anime . However, the game does not follow the same route as the Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld anime series , which premiered last October. Instead, the game branches off at that point into its own gameplay route.
The anime Sword Art Online: Alicization premiered in Japan in October 2018 and is streaming on Crunchyroll , Hulu , and FunimationNow . The series is adapting the entire Alicization arc from Reki Kawahara 's light novels . The first two cours aired from October 2018 to March 2019, and the third, titled Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld , premiered last October. The fourth cour was scheduled to premiere on April 25, but was also postponed to July 11 .
