Spoiler alert: For those who saw the 3D animated Super Mario Bros. that premiered in April of this year, you may not have noticed the reference to the anime Evangelion . However, the scene shows several very close-up scenes that served as references or even plagiarism.

Synopsis:

The story takes place in 2015, when the world has rebuilt after half of humanity suffered a catastrophe known as the "Second Impact." But the construction of the new metropolis serves only as a facade for a fortress city with highly advanced technology to resist the offensive of the Angels, monstrous beings whose attack had already been predicted by humanity.
