The RPG Sea of Stars, launched in 2023 by Canadian Sabotage Studio, will receive a free expansion on May 20th. The new DLC, called Throes of the Watchmaker, acts as an epilogue of the main campaign, and it adds about eight hours of unprecedented content to the protagonists' journey.
The adventure marks the return of Zale and Valere, now with new skills and classes. They face a new villain, the Fleshmancer, who uses the dangerous eclipse magic. However, this time, the pair will not be alone. A new ally, Artifícer, a mechanized shooter, joins the group in a completely new world.
Horloge will be the new stage of the journey
The story unfolds in Horloge, a cursed land created by the character watch. Known for the construction of the Mechanical Castle and the invention of the Cargo Rodas, it emerges as a central piece of this new phase of the saga. Horloge, although charming, keeps dangers that challenge logic and require rapid adaptation of heroes.
Zale and Valere leave their traditional weapons to take on new roles. He becomes a juggler while she becomes an agile acrobat. These changes are part of a system of its own, exclusive expansion, which also brings unpublished combos and renewed skills.
The plot deepens in the legacy of the watchmaker and reveals the side effects of his obsession with temporal inventions. Thus, in this context, the cursed carnival threatens to distort time in the horn, and it is up to the group to prevent the total collapse of the local reality.
In addition to enemies, the scenario brings new puzzles and challenges of exploration. The setting promises to mix classic fantasy elements with temporal mechanics, expanding the scope of adventure without misrepresenting its nostalgic essence.
Music and gameplay follow as highlighted
The soundtrack will again be an attraction for fans of the genre. Eric W. Brown, composer of the original game, returns in partnership with Yasunori Mitsuda, known as Chrono Trigger. Together they sign the DLC song, which promises to maintain the high standard of the main work. In addition, Sabotage Studio stated that the additional content budget equates to the base game.
