Virtua Fighter is a fighting game released in 1993, developed by SEGA's AM2 directed by Yu Suzuki. It was one of the first polygonal (3D) games and the first 3D fighting game. The team developed it around the same time as Virtua Racing; these were the company's first 100% polygonal games. One of the game's biggest innovations was the ability to change the camera view during gameplay; this innovative technology was patented by AM2.
