It has been announced that Argentine director Andrés Muschietti (Mama) will direct the film Shadow of the Colossus , a film adaptation of the PlayStation 2 game. The information is from the website ANN .
The plot will be based on a game in which a young man travels on horseback to kill colossal giants in various terrains, 16 in total, and then manage to revive his beloved. Seth Lochhead (Hanna) wrote the script.
Josh Trank (Unlimited) was once attached to direct, but dropped out due to his commitments to Fantastic Four and Star Wars. The idea of adapting Shadow of the Colossus has been around since 2009, when Justin Marks signed off on a first draft of the script.
Kevin Misher is producing the film alongside Barbara Muschietti, André's sister and partner in Mama.
