The BBC has confirmed the premiere date for the third season of Sherlock: January 1, 2014. The channel also announced the dates for the other two episodes of the new season: January 5, "The Sign of Three," and January 12, "His Last Vow."
In the first episode of the third season, "The Empty Hearse," set two years after the end of the second season, Watson continues with his life, envisioning new horizons, a romance, and a secure domestic future. When London becomes the target of a terrorist attack, Sherlock is about to rise from the dead with all his theatricality, but he finds a reality different from what he expected.
In the US, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman return as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson on January 19th.
