The BBC has confirmed the date for the third season of Sherlock: January 1, 2014. The channel also announced the dates for the other two episodes of the new year: January 5 “The Sign of Three” and January 12 “His Last Vow” .
In the first episode of Year Three, “The Empty Hearse,” set two years after the end of Year Two, Watson moves on with his life, envisioning new horizons, romance, and a secure domestic future. When London becomes the target of a terrorist attack, Sherlock is about to rise from the dead with all his theatrics, however, he finds a reality different from the one he expected.
In the US, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman return as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson on January 19th.
