MAPPA studio confirmed that part 1 will be released on March 3, 2023 , and part 2 will be released later in 2023. Check it out at this link .

After the announcement, several memes and expressions of annoyance flooded Twitter:

  • ONE YEAR. They had ONE YEAR to produce this and they're going to split it into two parts because the work "became much bigger than they expected." It's a serious lack of organization from the studio
  • Do MAPPA employees never go home? HAHAHAHA
  • What will generate the most hate is that they're united in fueling a storyline that could very easily be concluded in 8 episodes
  • If only we had to wait all this time for a happy ending...
  • And they're even going to release the movie "The End of Attack on Titan" lol

Therefore , the studio's production committee left a message for the fans:

The anime Attack on Titan: The Final Season premiered on NHK in December 2020, airing a total of 16 episodes. Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2 premiered with episode 76 on NHK General on January 9th, totaling 12 episodes, all of the latest seasons animated by MAPPA studio.
