MAPPA studio confirmed that part 1 will be released on March 3, 2023 and part 2 will be released later in 2023. Check it out at this link .

After the announcement, several memes and annoyed phrases took over Twitter:

  • ONE YEAR. They had ONE YEAR to produce this and they're going to split it into two parts because the work "turned out to be much bigger than they expected." It's a huge lack of organization on the part of the studio.
  • Don't MAPPA employees ever go home? KAKAKAKAKA
  • What will generate the most hate is that they are united in stirring up an ending to a story that could very easily end in 8 episodes.
  • If only we had to wait all this time for a good ending…
  • And they're still going to release the movie "The End of Attack on Titan" lol

Therefore , the studio's production committee left a message for fans:

The anime Attack on Titan The Final Season premiered on the NHK in December 2020, airing a total of 16 episodes. Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2 premiered with episode 76 on the NHK General on January 9, totaling 12 episodes, all the latest seasons animated by MAPPA.

Synopsis

Humans encounter Titans in Shiganshina District after years of peace. Eren, Mikasa, and Armin witness the appearance of the Colossal Titan and the Armored Titan, which breach Wall Maria. The Titans invade the city and wreak havoc, including the death of Eren's mother, who is devoured before his eyes. He then decides to seek revenge on all Titans by joining the Survey Corps.

Finally, Hajime Isayama launched the manga in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine , published by Kodansha in 2009, finishing in April 2021. Furthermore, the 34th and final volume was published in June 2021.
