The official website ShiroBako Film Project began showing a new trailer for the anime this Thursday (08). The film features animation by PA Works and features the return of series director Tsutomu Mizushima , and premieres in spring 2020 .
Shirobako anime focuses primarily on Aoi Miyamori, a production assistant at the animation studio Musashino Animations. The story follows her daily life at the company and the challenges that arise in an animation studio, as well as the overwhelming workload involved in producing an anime. It also focuses on Miyamori's friends, all of whom work or aspire to work in the Japanese animation industry.
The film's production says the "story will continue" in the film, where it ended in the anime. During the 2016 Tokyo Anime Awards Festival, producer Takayuki Nagatani stated that if they were to decide on a theme for the film, it would be a sequel film.
