Synopsis:

The Shokugeki no Soma anime revolves around Yukihira Soma, a high school student determined to surpass his father in culinary skills. One day, his father decides to close his family's restaurant and hone his culinary skills in Europe. But before leaving, he enrolls Soma in an elite culinary institute that's extremely difficult to get into and has a graduation rate of only 10%. Will Soma be able to improve his culinary skills? Or will the kitchen prove too hot for him?

Finally, Shokugeki no Soma is based on the manga of the same name, written by Yūto Tsukuda and illustrated by Shun Saeki. Since Chapter 5, it has also featured the collaboration of Yuki Morisaki, a model and culinary chef who provides the recipes for the series. Individual chapters of the manga have been published in Weekly Shōnen Jump since November 26, 2012, with tankōbon volumes being released by Shueisha.
