Weekly Shonen Jump is betting big on its next big musical manga! B no Seisen is one of the new titles arriving in the magazine, and even without an official translation, it's already gaining attention.
- Black Clover: This fight may be the best in all of shonen
- Anya Forger may have a tragic past in Spy x Family
Shueisha has shown such confidence in the series that they chose it to grace the cover of issue 11/2025 , scheduled for release on February 10, 2025. The cover art is highlighted and shows a young pianist playing, while the spirit of Beethoven appears in the background, evoking an aesthetic similar to the Stand abilities of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure .
What do we know about Shonen Jump's B no Seisen?
There's still little information about the plot, but we already know that the protagonist has wild hair, reminiscent of the iconic characters from Yu-Gi-Oh!. The story follows a talented pianist who seeks to reclaim his place in the music scene. However, the big mystery is whether the series will feature supernatural elements or if the cover simply represents a metaphor for the protagonist's connection to music. Beethoven's spirit may simply illustrate the impact of the composer's music on the character's journey.
The next Your Lie in April?
Conveying music in a visual medium like manga is a huge challenge. Without sound, artists must find innovative ways to represent melodies and emotions. Kodansha 's hit Your Lie in April stood out for this very reason. Eiichiro Oda , creator of One Piece , praised Naoshi Arakawa's ability to translate music into images.
So, after the end of Your Lie in April , other manga tried to fill that space. One example was PPPPPP , published between 2021 and 2023, which followed a young pianist trying to surpass his talented brothers. Now, the baton passes to B no Seisen , and expectations are high!
With the release of the first chapter, more details will be revealed. Will B no Seisen be able to mark a new era for musical manga?
