The anime fan community is in mourning this Friday (27). Sayuri, a Japanese singer and songwriter known for her beautiful interpretations of anime ending themes, passed away on September 20 at the age of 28.

In a statement, her husband shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), stating that her funeral was attended by close relatives and acquaintances. However, the young artist was passionate about music, despite battling a chronic illness.

Sayuri enchanted audiences with her memorable performances of "Parallel Line" from the anime Scum's Wish , where the melancholy of her music added even more depth to the narrative. Another hit was "Flower Tower" from the anime Lycoris Recoil , where her voice brought the series' ending to life, winning over fans worldwide.

Finally, she also contributed to the fourth season of My Hero Academia and the critically acclaimed Erased , where her final song captured the essence of each story in a moving way.
