The anime fan community is in mourning this Friday (27). Sayuri, a Japanese singer and songwriter known for her beautiful interpretations of anime ending themes, passed away on September 20 at the age of 28.
In a statement, her husband shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), stating that her funeral took place with close relatives and acquaintances. However, the young artist was passionate about music, despite battling a chronic illness.
Sayuri enchanted audiences with her memorable performances of “Parallel Line” from the anime Scum's Wish , where the melancholy of her music brought even more depth to the narrative. Another success was “Flower Tower” from the anime Lycoris Recoil , where his voice brought to life the ending of the series, winning over fans all over the world.
Lastly, she also contributed to the fourth season of My Hero Academia and the acclaimed Erased , where her final song touchingly captured the essence of each story.
