anime adaptation of Solo Leveling has been a huge hit with fans, breaking records in several places since its premiere in January. However, the latest episode isn't cause for celebration, as no other anime would like to reach this record number of dislikes on Crunchyroll.
- Dragon Ball Super: Bestial 'Gohan' impresses Goku and Vegeta
- Yamato: AI makes the One Piece character real
The retrospective episode (numbered 7.5) became the most disliked episode on Crunchyroll. So far, it has accumulated over 64,500 dislikes, while only having about 30,600 likes. That's practically more than double.
This is understandable, as Solo Leveling will only have a total of 12 episodes and aired right after episode 7 (considered the best so far), which most found unnecessary and even annoying. Some also fear that, as with previous A-1 Pictures , this could be a sign of production issues. Recently, Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini revealed in a podcast that his company pitched the manhwa "Solo Leveling" to Aniplex and was instrumental in bringing the anime series to production.
“ Our team read the manhwa, liked the intellectual property, and so we actually pitched it to one of our sister partners in Japan – Aniplex – and co-produced the series with them ,” Purini said.
Synopsis:
The story takes place ten years ago, after the "Gate" connecting the real world with a world of monsters was opened. However, some ordinary people were given the power to hunt the monsters within the portal. They are known as hunters. However, not all hunters are strong. My name is Sung Jin-Woo, a rank E hunter. I am someone who has to risk my life in the weakest dungeons, "The Weakest in the World." But without any skills at my disposal, I barely make money in the low-level dungeons... At least until I find a hidden dungeon with the highest difficulty within Rank D! In the end, as I accepted my death, I gained a new power.
The animation for the anime Solo Leveling is by A-1 Pictures , a well-known studio responsible for the anime Sword Art Online, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, Boku dake ga Inai Machi Mashle, The Seven Deadly Sins among many others.
