anime adaptation of Solo Leveling has been trending among fans, breaking records in several places since its premiere in January. However, the latest episode is no reason to celebrate, as the record for dislikes on Crunchyroll, no other anime would like to have reached.
- Dragon Ball Super: Bestial 'Gohan' impresses Goku and Vegeta
- Yamato: AI makes One Piece character real
The retrospective episode (numbered 7.5) became the most disliked episode on all of Crunchyroll. So far, it has accumulated more than 64,500 “dislikes”, while it only has around 30,600 “likes”. That's practically more than double.
This is understandable, as Solo Leveling will only have a total of 12 episodes and was shown right after episode 7 (considered the best so far), most considered it unnecessary and even annoying. Some also fear that, as with previous A-1 Pictures , this could be a sign of production problems. Recently, Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini revealed in a podcast that his company pitched the manhwa “Solo Leveling” to Aniplex and was instrumental in bringing the anime series to production.
“ Our team read the manhwa, liked the intellectual property, and so we actually pitched it to one of our sister partners in Japan – Aniplex – and co-produced the series with them ,” said Purini.
Synopsis:
The story takes place ten years ago, after the “Portal” that connects the real world with a world of monsters was opened, however some ordinary people received the power to hunt the monsters in the portal. They are known as hunters. However, not all hunters are strong. My name is Sung Jin-Woo, an E rank hunter. I am someone who has to risk his life in the weakest dungeons, “The weakest in the world”. But without having any skills at my disposal, I can barely make money in low-level dungeons… At least until I find a hidden dungeon with the highest difficulty within Rank D! In the end, while accepting my death, I gained new power.
The animation for the Solo Leveling is from A-1 Pictures , a well-known studio responsible for the anime Sword Art Online, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, Boku dake ga Inai Machi Mashle, The Seven Deadly Sins, among many others.
