Visually different, SEGA presents Sonic Boom , the new game featuring Sonic and all his friends. Sega's strategy is to first release a TV series with the same name, Sonic Boom, which should begin airing this year on Cartoon Network. The game's story will run parallel to that of the series.
Sonic appears in the game with a new look, sporting a sort of scarf and bandages on his arms and feet, along with Knuckles, Tails, and Amy, who also have new looks.
Sonic Boom will be exclusive to the Wii U ; the main story mode can be played in co-op by two players, while other game modes can support up to four players.
Nintendo isn't wasting any time either and will release a version for the 3DS, which will have the graphics and level architecture redesigned for the handheld.
