According to an interview conducted with the CEO of Sega “Sammy Holdings”, it was announced that the company has joint plans with Sony Pictures to create a live-action/animated Sonic the Hedgehog film. Saying that the film is expected to premiere in 2018.
Currently Sonic Boom produced by French company OuiDo! Productions debuted on Cartoon Network in 2014 and was accompanied by two new video games: Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric for Wii U and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal for Nintendo 3DS. A game called Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice will be released for Nintendo 3DS in September this year.
