On the most popular comment forums and social networks, fans are debating about the lack of information surrounding the long-awaited sequel to the anime Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru (My Dress-Up Darling).

More than a year has passed since the official announcement, and fans are hoping for more content from Season 2. Although the manga has progressed considerably, information about the second season has been scarce as of this writing.

One of the most frequently mentioned theories among the many in circulation is the perception that, although “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru” was popular, many considered it “less popular among the popular,” especially when compared to hits like “ChainSaw Man,” “Lycoris Recoil,” and “Bocchi the Rock!” in 2022. This view could have influenced prioritization decisions by the production committee and animation studio CloverWorks .

Furthermore, the upcoming anime adaptation of "2.5 Dimensional Seduction," another cosplay-centric franchise produced by Shueisha, could generate comparisons and even competition if "Sono Bisque Doll" returns this year. This situation may have prompted a strategic pause in the development of the second season.

However, the most pressing concern revolves around the current career of voice actress Hina Suguta, known for her role as Marin Kitagawa. Since leaving her agency, Amino Produce, in mid-2023, Suguta has been working freelance and has not had any major projects in the anime industry. This situation, in which the actress has to actively seek opportunities, may have negatively impacted the progress of the second season project.

Meanwhile, Shoya Ishige, who played Wakana Gojo, has been earning prominent roles in several anime productions since "Sono Bisque Doll." Furthermore, the band Spira Spica, responsible for the series' opening theme, has faced setbacks. The loss of the guitarist and bassist in August 2022 could have affected plans for a potential new season.

A combination of factors, ranging from perceived popularity to individual issues involving cast and crew members.

Meanwhile, fans remain eager for any news about the future of this beloved series.

Sono Bisque Doll Synopsis:

The plot follows Wakana Gojo, a young man who loves handmade doll clothes but lives a lonely life. But everything changes after a childhood incident with a friend who disliked dolls. However, Gojo meets Marin, a girl from his school who is not shy at all. She sees in Wakana a chance to make him a cosplay fan, just like her.

The first season premiered in January 2022, and the second season has been confirmed, but there is still no release date.

Finally, comment if you think there should already be new information about the 2nd season of Sono Bisque Doll.
