Stellar Blade's latest update, numbered 1.3.0, has caused frustration among PC players. After installation, some users reported that the game simply stopped launching, making it impossible to access the action RPG that had been garnering praise since its launch.

Members of the Steam community identified the issue and linked it to modifications installed in the game. While solutions have already been shared among fans, the studio responsible must investigate further to ensure the issue doesn't reoccur.
Community identifies source of error
Just hours after the patch's release, a player posted on the official Steam forum that they were unable to open Stellar Blade. Replies quickly poured in, revealing that several users were experiencing the same issue. Developer Shift Up chimed in, pointing out that the issue could be linked to the UE4SS modding tool and individual mods.
By following the recommendation to remove the tool and extra files, some players were able to get the game running normally again. Additionally, some users suggested alternative methods and restored the game's functionality, but the studio has not yet officially confirmed these solutions.
Changes and fixes brought by the patch
Despite the glitch, update 1.3.0 brought specific changes to both the PC and PlayStation 5 versions. Among them, a fix for a visual bug that removed protagonist Eve's hair when using the "Fluffy Bear" and "Pink Bear" skins. Additionally, the game now allows you to exit Clyde's store after purchasing a specific pair of glasses.
Photo mode has received improvements, and adjustments have been made to scenarios and progress bars that weren't working as expected. On PC, FSR technology has been improved, offering greater graphical stability. On PS5, the patch, identified as version 1.013, fixed an issue affecting auto-aim during combat against the Demogorgon enemy.
Expectation for an official hotfix
Even with the solutions shared by the community, many players are waiting for an official hotfix that will permanently eliminate the startup error. The studio didn't release a timeline for the next update, but reiterated that it continues to monitor reports.
Despite the setback, Stellar Blade maintains its high approval rating on Steam, with over 54,000 reviews, 93% of which are positive. Therefore, the issue is expected to be resolved quickly, preserving the action RPG's good reputation.
