It's important to note that Netflix has a distribution deal with Studio Ghibli , and a variety of Ghibli films are available in its catalog. Therefore, the film does not yet have an official release date.
Synopsis
The Boy and the Heron is inspired by the story of Genzaburo Yoshino 1937 novel. However, the book's story follows the journey of Copper, a 15-year-old boy who goes on a journey to discover the meaning of life. However, Miyazaki has stated that his film will tell a different story.
Thus, The Boy and the Crane won Best Animated Feature at the 81st Golden Globe Awards and the Academy Awards. However, the Alliance of Women Film Journalists awarded it Best Animated Feature at its EDA Awards on December 31st.
The Boy and the Crane premiered in Brazil on February 22. Finally, the film also received nominations from the Annie Awards (for animated feature, direction and screenplay) and the British Academy Film Awards (for animated film).
