Distributor Warner Bros gave a report this weekend and reported that Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie -Rebellion- earned around 1 billion yen (US$10 million) between its premiere on October 27th and now 7 of November.
According to the distributor, the film sold its tickets very quickly and entered the ranking of million-dollar films that came from an animated TV series, thus competing for positions with K-ON! the movie and this year's hit, anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day .
Madoka Magica The Movie -Rebellion is the third film in the long-awaited continuation of the TV series “Puella Magi Madoka Magica”, where Madoka Kaname, a normal girl who had a happy life sacrificed herself in order to save the other magical girls from a cruel fate that waited for them. Unable to let the memories of Modoka die, magical girl Homura Akemi continues to struggle alone in the world that Madoka left behind, dreaming of one day finding that nostalgic smile once again.
