The team behind the original Suicide Squad animeSuicide Squad ISEKAI" from the Warner Bros. Japan and Wit Studio revealed on Friday (1) the main cast, teaser trailer, visual and the artist of the anime's theme song.
Furthermore, the anime will premiere globally in 2024. Tomoyasu Hotei is performing the opening theme song “Another World”.
Warner Bros. describes the anime's original story as follows:
In the crime-ridden city of Gotham, Amanda Waller, head of ARGUS, has assembled a group of notorious criminals for a mission: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark. These Super Villains are sent to an alternate-dimensional realm connected to this world through a portal. It's a world of swords and sorcery, where orcs wreak havoc and dragons rule the skies – an “ISEKAI”! However, with lethal explosives implanted in their necks, there's no escape or hiding, and failing the mission means a one-way ticket to the afterlife! Can Harley Quinn and her team conquer this dangerous ISEKAI realm?! Eri Osada (episode director for Jujutsu Kaisen , Gintama ) is directing the original anime at Wit Studio . Tappei Nagatsuki (writer of the Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- light novel, Vivy Prototype) and Eiji Umehara (writer of the Vivy Prototype light novel) are writing the scripts. Manga artist Akira Amano (elDLIVE, Reborn!, Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective) is creating the original characters, while Naoto Hosoda (key animator for Seiren, Digimon: The Movie) is designing the characters. Kenichiro Suehiro (music composer for Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, Golden Kamuy , Undead Unluck ) is composing the music. Shinya Tsuruoka is serving as animation producer for Warner Bros. Japan.
