Recently, the production of Suisei no Gargantia's first OVA was revealed, in addition to the design of a new character that will appear in the animation. The character in question will be voiced by Yui Horie , although it has been known for some time that Minori Chihara (responsible for the series' opening) will voice another original character and will make her appearance in the third OVA. The sale of the first Blu-ray disc along with a 100-page CD book, a collection of storyboards, a box illustrated by Hanaharu Naruko and other extras is scheduled for July 26th. The story of Suisei no Galgantia takes us to a distant future, in a remote part of the galaxy, the Human Galactic Alliance has long been fighting for its survival against the aliens known as “Hideous”. During an intense battle, young lieutenant Redo and his Chamber mecha “fall” into a space-time distortion. Upon awakening from his artificially induced hibernation he realizes that he is on Earth, the planet of the lost frontier, where there is only the ocean and people have to live on large boats to survive. Redo “joins” the fleet of boats called Gargantia and is forced to live with Amy, a 15-year-old girl who works as the fleet's onboard messenger. Now Redo, who has been a soldier all his life, finds himself surprised by all the peace and calm he finds living in Gargantia.
