Synopsis:

The story revolves around Suzume, a 17-year-old girl from a quiet town in Kyushu who meets a young man searching for a door. They find a door within ruins in the mountains, and Suzume opens it. The film portrays Suzume's liberation and growth as she closes the doors that are causing the disaster.

Shinkai stated that three important points about the film are that it is a journey through Japan, and therefore, a story about "closing doors" rather than opening them. He elaborated that closing doors could refer to tying up loose ends or finishing something.

Therefore, the director is Makoto Shinkai ( Your Name , Weathering With You ).

Finally, the film premieres in Brazilian cinemas on April 13, 2023.
