Sword Art Online II: Phantom Bullet has gained news from the new saga. According to a publication via Twitter, singer Eir Aoi, will be responsible for the new opening theme of the series. Previously, Aoi performed the second opening theme of the first season ( Fairy Dance ) and that of the special Sword Art Online: Extra Edition ( Niji no Oto ).
The new season focuses on the Phantom Bullet arc, which is part of the 5th and 6th light novels created by author Reki Kawahara. The plot takes place one year after the end of the events of SAO. Kirito must investigate the case of a player who not only destroys characters in an online game, but also those who control them in real life.
Aniplex of America has announced that the new season of the Sword Art Online anime will be streamed worldwide shortly after its Japanese television premiere in July. The production company also confirmed that it will host several premieres of the series at events in the United States, France, Hong Kong, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
