Sword Art Online II: Phantom Bullet has received new updates regarding the new saga. According to a post on Twitter, singer Eir Aoi will be responsible for the new opening theme of the series. Previously, Aoi performed the second opening theme of the first season ( Fairy Dance ) and the opening theme of the special Sword Art Online: Extra Edition ( Niji no Oto ).
The new season focuses on the Phantom Bullet arc, which is part of the 5th and 6th light novels created by author Reki Kawahara. The plot takes place one year after the events of SAO. Kirito needs to investigate the case of a player who not only destroys characters in an online game, but also those who control them in real life.
Aniplex of America has announced that the new season of the anime Sword Art Online will be streamed worldwide shortly after its premiere on Japanese TV in July. The production company also confirmed that it will hold several pre-screenings of the series at events in the United States, France, Hong Kong, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
