The second film of Sword Art Online: Progressive Kuraki Yuuyami no Scherzo ( Scherzo of a Deep Night ) has received a promotional image. According to information, the premiere is scheduled for this year's autumn season (October-December) in cinemas in Japan.
Therefore, the film is based on the light novel by author Reki Kawahara . The novel launched in 2012 as a revised version retelling events that happened in Sword Art Online.

Synopsis:
The fifth floor of Aincrad is a dimly lit area of ruins and relics. In the beta test, this floor was the site of many PKs, so Asuna asks Kirito for a dueling PVP lesson. Asuna considers Kirito to be a very wise and trustworthy person, but she depends a lot on him. For this reason, she will seek to gradually become independent of him on this floor.
Finally, the story describes Kirito's journey through Aincrad's floating castle from the beginning, floor by floor.
