A stage presentation held for the Sword Art Online AnimeJapan 2022 event , which took place this Sunday, revealed a teaser for the film “ Sword Art Online: Progressive – Kuraki Yuuyami no Scherzo ” (Scherzo of a Dark Twilight), the second in the film series.
The film will be released in Japan this fall.

The event also revealed a video dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Sword Art Online franchise. The franchise will host an event to celebrate this milestone on November 6th in Tokyo.
In addition to all this, the event revealed another video, this time dedicated to the Blu-ray of Progressive's first film.
The film's animation will be done by the studio A-1 Pictures .
Ayako Kohno will direct the film, while Kento Toya will design the characters. Yasuyuki Kai will serve as action director, and Yuki Kajiura will compose the music.
Also returning are voice actors Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Kirito and Haruka Tomatsu as Asuna .
The film will therefore adapt the light novel Sword Art Online: Progressive by author Reki Kawahara . The novel series began its release in 2012 as a revised version of the original Sword Art Online novels . The story then follows Kirito's journey through the floating castle of Aincrad from the beginning, floor by floor.
