Bandai Namco Entertainment 's smartphone RPG Sword Art Online Unleash Blading (formerly known as Sword Art Online: Alicization Blading in Japan or Sword Art Online: Alicization Rising Steel in the West) has announced that it will cease service on January 16, 2023.
Sword Art Online Unleash Blading debuted on smartphones in Japan in November 2019 as Sword Art Online: Alicization Blading, and simultaneously debuted as Sword Art Online: Alicization Rising Steel in the West. The game was renamed to Sword Art Online Unleash Blading in October 2021. It is free to play with in-app purchases.
It's worth remembering that the smartphone game Sword Art Online: Memory Defrag ended service in August 2021.
Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed the new smartphone game Sword Art Online Variant Showdown in March, with a plan to release the game worldwide later this year.
