The official website for the anime Taiyou Yori mo Mabushii Hoshi ( A Star Brighter Than the Sun ) has announced the first trailer and visual for the adaptation.

Therefore, the premiere of Taiyou Yori mo Mabushii Hoshi takes place in the October 2025 season with animation by Studio KAI (Skeleton Knight in Another World).

Taiyou Yori mo Mabushii Synopsis:

Sae and Koki are childhood friends, sharing a bond that stretches back to their early school years. However, one fateful day, toward the end of elementary school, Sae has an unexpected revelation: Koki has grown up! Now, in high school, she faces an even more shocking discovery: she's in love with him! But Sae isn't the only girl with feelings for Koki. As she tries to understand her own feelings, a question lingers: who will Koki fall for? With hearts at stake and secrets on display, this story promises to explore the ups and downs of first love, friendship, and the choices that shape our lives.

Written and illustrated by Kazune Kawahara, A Star Brighter Than the Sun ( Taiyou Yori mo Mabushii Hoshi ) began serialization in Shueisha's shōjo manga magazine Bessatsu Margaret on June 11, 2021. The series' chapters have been collected into ten tankōbon volumes as of November 2024. In May 2024, Viz Media announced that it has licensed the series for publication in English.
