Namco Bandai has announced a new game in the Tales series, titled Tales of Zestiria, for the PlayStation 3. The game will be released in Japan to commemorate the series' 20th anniversary.
The “Zest” in the name represents passion and enthusiasm, according to producer Hideo Baba. A dragon is used in the logo as a symbol of the game's story.
Character design is in the hands of Mutsumi Inomata, Kosuke Fujishima, Daigo Okumura, and Minoru Iwamoto. The animation is being done by the renowned studio Ufotable (fate/zero).
Two characters have been revealed so far:
Slay (voiced by Ryouhei Kimura): design by Koskuke Fujishima. Quotes: "I want to explore ruins all over the world." "Of course, the monk's mural wields the sacred sword."

Alicia (voiced by Ai Kayano): design by Daigo Okumura. Quotes: "I want to try to see my hometown free from impurities." "You... aren't going to ask my name?"

The game takes place on the continent of Glynnwood. There, two powerful nations, the Highland Kingdom and the Laurence Empire, fight for supremacy. Each country possesses different beliefs and cultures, and has achieved great advancements in civilization. However, there is a strange factor in common: faith in a mysterious being known as the "Family of Heaven." It is invisible and untouchable, but is said to possess supernatural powers to influence the world. People respect, fear, avoid, and glorify this "Family of Heaven.".
