Tales of Zestiria game team announced at the Tales of Festival 2014 event that they are preparing an animated special, possibly an OVA for their latest game in the Tales franchise. The new animated special is titled Tales of Zestiria: Dōshi no Yoake (Tales of Zestiria: Dawn of the Fon Master) and will be produced entirely by ufotable, the studio behind franchises like Fate/Stay Zero.

Additionally, other news emerged for the game. The team revealed that Kenjiro Tsuda will play the villain Zavida. Zavida will be able to wield a pistol-like weapon. Superfly (Ushijima the Loan Shark) will produce the theme song, which is currently in production. The game will also include a new battle feature called "Kamui," which allows a celestial being to fuse with humans.

Namco Bandai Games will release the game for the PlayStation 3 worldwide .
