Created by YC and Rakyeon, Teenage Mercenary follows Ijin Yu, a boy who survives a plane crash and becomes a mercenary to survive. However, he returns to Korea after a decade away, reuniting with his family and trying to live like a normal teenager. However, adapting to school life can be as challenging as a battlefield.

The webtoon topped the Line Manga rankings in both 2023 and 2024. Translated into 10 languages, the series became a global success. As the author YC himself commented, he never imagined such support from fans. Rakyeon also expressed his gratitude, saying he was thrilled to reach new audiences through the anime.

Currently, Webtoon Entertainment is developing 20 adaptations, including the highly anticipated Omniscient Reader , in partnership with Aniplex and Crunchyroll. Finally, recent productions such as Viral Hit , Tower of God – Season 2 , True Beauty , and Senpai is an Otokonoko have already begun to heat up this new chapter in the anime market.
