Fans of Makoto's works can rejoice! The film Tenki no Ko ( Weathering With You ) by director Makoto Shinkai ( Kimi no na wa ) will be released in Brazilian theaters.
Therefore, the premiere will take place in early 2020 in Brazilian theaters. Diamond Films , responsible for Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary , will distribute the film. However, no details about dubbed versions are available.
Synopsis:
Hodaka Morishima, a high school student, leaves his quiet island home in search of a new life in Tokyo. Isolated and facing hardship, he lands a job as a writer for a magazine dedicated to the occult. Soon, the city enters an endless cycle of rainy days. Amidst the urban chaos, Hodaka crosses paths with Hina Amano, a young woman living with her younger brother. Despite the challenges, the two maintain a simple and hopeful life. However, Hina harbors an extraordinary secret: she has the ability to stop the rain and bring back clear skies.
Released in Japanese theaters in July 2019, Weathering With You ( Tenki no Ko ) follows Hodaka, who has fled his home for Tokyo, and Hina, a girl who controls the weather with her prayers. The two attempt to forge their own destiny in a world that has broken the laws of weather.
Ultimately, the film grossed over 13.7 billion yen in its theatrical release in Japan.
