Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken ( That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime franchise has some new additions! Fans can mark their calendars now: the new film premieres in 2026.

The press release revealed that the new film will be titled “Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Tears of the Blue Sea Arc (Soukai no Namida-hen)” , and is scheduled to premiere in February 2026 in theaters in Japan.

It's worth noting that, although the fourth season has already been officially announced, there's still no set release date. This means that, until further notice, this film will be the franchise's next major return to the big screen.

Tensei Shitara Slime Synopsis:

Satoru Mikami , a 37-year-old office worker in Tokyo, led a simple, emotionless life. Although content with his routine, he never had a girlfriend. Everything changed when, during a casual conversation with a colleague, Satoru was attacked and eventually killed. As he struggled to survive, a strange voice echoed in his mind, reciting cryptic commands he didn't understand. Upon awakening, Satoru discovered he had been reborn as a slime in a completely new world. In this new body, he gained special abilities, such as the ability to devour anything and copy its characteristics and powers.

Therefore, the original novels were released by Fuse on the independent platform Shousetsuka ni Narou between 2013 and 2016. However, the printed version debuted with the publisher Micro Magazine since 2014.

Finally, in addition to the manga adaptation made by Taiki Kawakami and several spin-offs, the anime has three seasons , totaling 72 episodes , in addition to an original film and the spin-off “The Slime Diaries” .
