The official website for the TV series of the highly anticipated Terra Formars is publishing promotional videos for the characters weekly, ahead of the official premiere. Below you can check out all the material that has been released so far. Over the course of the week we will update this post with new releases.
The TV series will adapt the first 1st arc of the manga on September 26th on Japanese channels, . As for the OVAs that are being released, the 2nd arc adapts the 10th and 11th volumes of the manga, where the first arc takes place 20 years later.
Hiroshi Hamasaki (Steins; Gate) is directing Terra Formars at the Liden studio. Shogo Yasukawa (Hyperdimension Neptunia) is handling the series composition, Masanori Shino (Black Lagoon) is handling the main characters' lines.
The story of Terra Formars revolves around a space project that attempted to travel to Mars, 21st century scientists were tasked with the task of warming the planet so that humans could live on its surface. They came up with an efficient plan to send in cockroaches and cover the surface with mold, so that the mold could absorb sunlight, and the insect carcasses would serve as fertilizer for the mold.
Now in the year 2577 the first manned spacecraft has landed on the planet and the six crew members are ready for their mission. But what they will find there are mutated humanoid cockroaches with incredible physical strength. The crew members are easily killed, but not before sending a transmission to Earth. Now, humanity will send elite soldiers to exterminate the mutant insects and take back Mars.
