Terra Formars anime TV series is releasing weekly promotional videos of the characters ahead of the official premiere. Below you can check out all the material that has been released so far. Throughout the week we will update this post with any new videos that are released.
The TV series will adapt the first arc of the manga on September 26th on Japanese channels. The OVAs currently being released adapt the second arc, volumes 10 and 11 of the manga, where the first arc takes place 20 years later.
Hiroshi Hamasaki (Steins;Gate) is directing Terra Formars at studio Liden. Shogo Yasukawa (Hyperdimension Neptunia) is handling the series composition, and Masanori Shino (Black Lagoon) is taking care of the main character designs.
The story of Terra Formars revolves around a space project attempting to travel to Mars. 21st-century scientists were tasked with warming the planet so that humans could live on its surface. They came up with an efficient plan: to send cockroaches and cover the surface with mold, so that the mold could absorb sunlight, and the insect carcasses would serve as fertilizer for the mold.
Now in the year 2577, the first manned spacecraft has landed on the planet, and the six crew members are ready for their mission. But what they will find there are mutant humanoid cockroaches with incredible physical strength. The crew members are easily killed, but not before sending a transmission back to Earth. Now, humanity will send elite soldiers to exterminate the mutant insects and take back Mars.
