After a long period without news, the American live-action Death Note has some updates. In a recent interview with the website Bleeding Cool , Shane Black (Iron Man 3) stated that one of his upcoming projects at Warner Bros. will be an adaptation of the manga created by the duo Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The director's involvement in the production, which many thought wouldn't go ahead, is no surprise; Black's name has been linked to the film since 2011. It remains to be seen if the idea of removing the shinigami Ryuk from the story will be maintained. In Brazil, Death Note is known for its anime, which aired on the now-defunct Animax channel, and the manga, which will receive a special edition called the Black Edition, published by JBC .
