Kadokawa revealed that the novel Kyoukai no Melody ( Melody of the Boundary ), written by Toshiya Miyata, will receive a anime . The confirmation came alongside the announcement of the main cast, and the type of story that usually attracts fans of musical anime and sensitive narratives.
The production brings together well-known names in the industry: Kent Itou will voice Kyousuke Tsurumaki, while Daisuke Sakuma will play Kai Amano. In addition, Yuuma Uchida , Shunsuke Takeuchi , and Souma Saitou complete the supporting cast. Therefore, the anime already has strong appeal among fans of renowned voice actors.
The story follows Kyousuke, a musician who loses his motivation after the death of his partner Kai shortly before his professional debut. However, everything changes when Kai reappears three years later—alive, unharmed, and as sincere as ever. From then on, Kyousuke returns to the world of music, finding purpose and emotion again. However, the reunion holds an inevitable limit, which promises to profoundly impact the audience.
The original novel was released in 2024 by Media Works Bunko, with illustrations by LAM . The second volume is scheduled for November 25th. Meanwhile, the manga adaptation, produced by Iqura Sugimoto , began its serialization in Young Ace in 2025, and the first volume will be released on the same date.
