The manga The Apothecary Diaries ( Kusuriya no Hitorigoto ) has been announced for an anime adaptation. According to reports, the new anime is being animated by two studios: Toho Animation and OLM . The series premieres this year on Japanese television.

The direction is by Norihiro Naganuma , script by Shinotoko and character design by Yukiko Nakatani .
Synopsis:
The story takes place in a large country in the middle of the continent. Mao-mao is a young woman who works as a pharmacist in a Hanamachi (a neighborhood with several brothels). She is kidnapped and sold as a servant to the palace. But she hides the fact that she is a pharmacist; she works very quietly, waiting for the new year to arrive. One day, however, she hears a rumor from a coworker that the emperor's sons are dying one after another, and using her pharmacy knowledge, she discovers the cause.
Therefore Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (The Apothecary Diaries) began publication in October 2011 in Shousetsuka ni Narou and in physical format began publication in August 2014.
Finally, the novel had two manga adaptations simultaneously, the first by Nekokurage published in Big Gangan and the second by Minoki Kurata published in Sunday Gene-X.
